Ngurah Rai International Airport
Ngurah Rai International Airport ((インドネシア語:Bandar Udara Internasional Ngurah Rai)) , also known as Denpasar International Airport, is the main airport in Bali, located 13 km south of Denpasar. Ngurah Rai is the 3rd busiest airport in Indonesia after Soekarno–Hatta International Airport and Juanda International Airport. The airport is named after I Gusti Ngurah Rai, a Balinese hero who died on 20 November 1946 in a ''puputan'' (fight to the death war) against the Dutch at Marga in Tabanan where the Dutch defeated his company with air support, killing Rai and 95 others during the Indonesian Revolution in 1946.〔Pringle, p 161〕

The airport is located in Tuban between Kuta and Jimbaran and is close to the tourist locations of southern Bali; the resort center of Kuta is 2.5 km north of the airport. The capital of Bali, Denpasar, is located nearby.
